Study Abroad in Sydney

During my third year, I spent a semester studying Product Design Engineering at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). This experience allowed me to experience a different approach to design education while developing both my technical and personal skills.

While at UTS, I worked on a range of design projects that challenged me to approach problems from different perspectives and consider the user throughout the design process. Working alongside students from different backgrounds exposed me to new ideas, ways of working and approaches to problem-solving. I developed my skills in CAD, prototyping, design development and presenting ideas, while becoming more confident in taking projects from an initial concept through to a final solution.

Living and studying in a new country also pushed me to become more independent and adaptable. Managing university work alongside travelling and experiencing a completely different environment taught me how to organise my time, communicate effectively and adapt quickly to unfamiliar situations.

Overall, my time in Sydney broadened my experience as a Product Design Engineer and gave me a greater appreciation for different approaches to design. It strengthened my confidence, problem-solving skills and ability to work independently, while providing an experience that I continue to draw on in my design work.
