Hi. I’m Katie
I study Product Design Engineering at the University of Strathclyde and am passionate about turning ideas into practical, user-focused solutions. I recently earned a First-Class Bachelor's degree and am entering my fifth year, seeking graduate opportunities to apply and further develop my skills in engineering, design, and product development.
My Journey
I've always had a passion for STEM and problem-solving, which led me to study Product Design Engineering at the University of Strathclyde. Throughout my degree, I've worked on a wide range of engineering projects, developing skills in CAD, product development, manufacturing, prototyping, and engineering analysis. Alongside my studies, I've gained valuable industry experience and embraced opportunities beyond the classroom that have helped shape me both professionally and personally.

Accessible Guitar Aid
Designed and 3D-printed an accessible guitar aid for individuals with arthritis, making playing more comfortable and inclusive. This project explored user-centred design, accessibility, and rapid prototyping.
ValveGrab
Developed ValveGrab as my Bachelor's dissertation project, creating a portable solution to operate hard-to-reach industrial valves safely. The project focused on problem-solving, engineering analysis, prototyping, and design for manufacturing.
Interactive Sensory Toy
Designed an interactive sensory toy for a real client, integrating projection, sound, and NFC technology into a child-friendly product. The project combined user-centred design and product development to create an engaging, educational experience.
Beyond Engineering
I enjoy trying new things and embracing new challenges. At university, I joined Strath Snow to learn to ski and snowboard, and Strath Surf to learn to surf. I also love travelling and exploring new places, as I believe experiencing different environments has helped me become adaptable, resilient, and always eager to learn.
